Cadets Seek Lead Cook for 2022

Responsibilities:
- Create a weekly menu including breakfast, lunch, dinner and snack while following the Dietary & Food Preparation Guidelines which can be found on the Resources page of our website
- Work with the Operations Manager to ensure all meals meet nutritional requirements
- Work with Food Truck Manager to oversee a rotating staff of cooks and volunteers
- Work with Food Truck Manager to assign tasks to the volunteers, schedule their day according to the number of volunteers present, and the schedule for the day.
- Directly oversee all preparation of meals
- Work with Food Truck Manager to provide guidance, direction, and recipes to the volunteers
- Provide meals for members/staff according to special needs (vegetarians, vegans, allergies, etc.)
- Plan food orders and communicate to Operations Manager in a timely manner
- Work with Food Truck Manager to prepare daily shopping lists for the Tour Runner
- Work with Food Truck Manager to manage the pantry inventory on the road
- Work with Food Truck Manager to maintain organization of the truck (dry goods, refrigerator, cans, cookware, etc.)
- Maintain a sanitary environment in the food truck
- Work with Food Truck Manager to train volunteers on safety and proper food preparation
- Provide customer service to the members, staff, and volunteers
- Keep an open line of communication with the Operations Manager
- Communicate any issues on the truck with the Operations Manager
- Other responsibilities as they develop, based on interest areas and organization needs
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience in field
- ServSafe Certification
- Ability to cook multiple meals for 250 plus people on a daily basis
- Two or more years experience in food industry, tour experience is a plus
- Two or more years experience in management, Catering experience is a plus
- Able to work in a fast paced and changing environment
- Self-motivated with a strong work ethic
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong organization skills, detail oriented, punctual, and flexible
- Able to prioritize and manage multiple tasks under tight deadlines
- Must be able to work independently and manage others
