The 2023 season marks Seth's eighth year affiliated with The Cadets organization. He is excited to be returning for his fourth year as a member of the Cadets battery staff. Prior to teaching, Seth spent four seasons (2016 - 2019) as a member of the quadline. Following the 2019 season, he and his fellow quadline peers received the Distinguished Service Award. During his time at The Cadets, Seth performed under Colin McNutt in 2016 and DCI Hall of Fame member Tom Aungst from 2017-2019. Prior to his time at The Cadets, he spent his first season of drum corps (2014) playing cymbals and his second (2015) playing quads with The Spartans Drum and Bugle Corps.

Originally from Portsmouth, New Hampshire, Seth discovered his passion for music at the early age of six when he began learning to play the drum set. Continuing throughout high school, he was involved in the music program in the Portsmouth School District, studying under percussion instructor, Steve Cirillo, medaling several times and earning a WGI Scholastic Concert Open Class championship in 2011 with the high school’s Percussion Ensemble. An active performer around the community, he performed for organizations such as the Seacoast Repertory Theater, Portsmouth Pro Musica, and the Portsmouth Symphony Orchestra. In addition he performed with the New Hampshire All-State band several times. Many of these experiences led him to pursue a career in music. He continues to teach, arrange and give back after graduating from PHS in 2015.

Seth received his bachelor's degree in Percussion Performance at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst. During his time at UMass, Seth was an active performer on and off campus. He had the opportunity to teach, arrange, and perform with the world renowned UMass Percussion section, the UMass Marimba Bands/Ensembles and several other ensembles offered at the university, as well as the Amherst Symphony Orchestra on several occasions. He served as the quadline section leader during his third year in the marching band, and as drumline captain during his fourth and final year. To expand upon his classical training he was selected by studio professor, Ayano Kataoka, to perform in the McCormick Marimba Festival at the University of South Florida in January of 2019. He also had the opportunity to learn from artists in residence Victor Caccese and Terry Sweeney from contemporary chamber percussion group, Sandbox Percussion, in the spring of 2019.

Following his undergraduate studies, he returned to UMass to pursue a master's degree in Music Education. During his two years of graduate studies he served as teaching assistant to professor Thom Hannum. As teaching assistant, he had the privilege of working with the marching band's percussion section, the Hoop/Ice Band and the Marimba Bands/Ensembles. Prior to graduating in the spring of 2021, he took on the responsibility of coordinating and directing the UMass Marimba Band for the '20-'21 school year.

Seth currently resides in Austin, TX, where he serves as the Director of Percussion for the Liberal Arts and Science Academy in the Austin Independent School District and as Assistant Director of Percussion for Glenn High School and Danielson Middle School in the Leander Independent School District. In addition he teaches a considerable amount of private percussion lessons around the area. Seth is a proud member of the Vic Firth and Zildjian education teams.
