Board of Directors Names New Officers

In conjunction with the start of the organization's new fiscal year on November 1, 2023, the Cadets Arts & Entertainment Board of Directors is pleased to announce its new officers.

"We have an incredible team of talented and highly esteemed professionals serving The Cadets on our Board of Directors," said Vicki Ferrence Ray, Interim CEO of Cadets Arts & Entertainment, Inc. "As we enter a new fiscal year and The Cadets' eighty-ninth year of performance, I feel that our corps is in trustworthy hands. Our new officers will be instrumental in building upon CAE's foundational first two years, as our entire Board looks ahead to our one-hundredth anniversary and beyond."

The 2023 Officers for the Cadets Arts & Entertainment Board of Directors are:

John Broschak, previously the Vice Chairperson, will serve as Board Chairperson for 2023. John was a member of the Garfield Cadets in 1984 and 1985. He recently retired from his corporate career as an Executive with Consumers Energy, a Fortune 500 gas and electric utility, and now runs his own executive leadership coaching and business consulting company. John brings extensive operations and management and leadership experience to The Cadets, along with multiple non-profit board engagements. Throughout his life, he has been a performer, instructor, parent, volunteer, and passionate supporter within the marching arts.

Matt Chamberlin moves into the role of Vice Chairperson for the new term. He is the Strategy Director for Commercial Insurance Products at Liberty Mutual Insurance Company, where he is responsible for optimizing the organization’s business processes and initiatives. Matt is a long-time volunteer leader in the marching arts with extensive experience managing local band events for USBands. He has supported BDPA’s Advisory Board, has provided business plan analysis to the BDPA CEO, and is a former Officer for the Boston Association of Claim Executives Board of Directors.

Martin Taylor will now serve as the Board Treasurer. A 1989 Cadets Alumnus, Martin qualified as a Chartered Certified Accountant with KPMG in the UK and is Global Head of Finance for Worldnet International, one of the best-known white glove logistics groups in the world. Martin’s professional experience includes preparing and reviewing financial statements and introducing and implementing internal controls over financial reporting for private companies and non-profits in the US and Europe with revenues of up to $50M.

Chris Ryan-Lawrence continues in his role of Secretary. Chris marched in The Cadets in 1990 and is a Founder, Principal and CEO of ARK Leadership, LLC, a business advisory consultancy that supports entrepreneurs and leaders in a multitude of industries. In 2008, he was a founding partner and principal of Pegasus Residential, a multi-family real estate company that grew to operate in 10 states, where he managed over 24,000 residential units when he sold his ownership. Chris is a sought-after speaker on business leadership topics, was a guest lecturer to Georgia Tech for over a decade, as well as to the University of Georgia and his alma mater, Virginia Tech. Chris is a former Director for the Atlanta Gay and Lesbian Chamber of Commerce (now called the OUT Georgia Business Alliance) and has extensive experience organizing and supporting within the pageantry arts.

Aundre Pelovski (Mathis), who previously served as Treasurer, will now serve the corps as CFO in addition to his duties as a Director on the Board. Aundre is a Certified Public Accountant; a Real Estate Manager at Warby Parker focusing on brick-and-mortar strategy and expansion; and a co-owner of ArchHomes Properties, a real estate investing company. Aundre began his career at Deloitte and Touché, one of the most prestigious and largest financial firms in the world. There, he served within the audit and advisory practices, working on large global engagements in both the U.S. and Australia. He then served on the financial strategy and planning team at Urban Edge Properties, one of the largest commercial retail property owners along the eastern corridor. While at Urban Edge, he focused his time on strategy, planning, budgeting, mergers and acquisitions, and overall development. He is excited to now serve in the role of CFO for CAE to help ensure the organization continues to grow and display industry-leading financial practices. Aundre was a contra player at Carolina Crown and Crossmen from 2008 to 2010 before aging out at Carolina Crown as drum major. He resides in Montclair, N.J. with his husband, Igor, and goldendoodle, Archie.
