Hall of Fame Committee Announces Candidates for 2023

The Comment Period for the 2023 Cadets Hall of Fame is now CLOSED.

The Cadets Hall of Fame Committee met on March 15 to discuss the nominees for 2023 and to narrow the candidates down to the maximum number of nominees allowed for voting.

"This was a very challenging year because we had so many deserving candidates nominated, all of which will likely someday be in the Cadets Hall of Fame," said Andy Warntz, Hall of Fame Committee Chairperson. "However, in line with the operating procedures of the Cadets Hall of Fame, the committee has submitted their votes, determining the eight candidates that will appear on the 2023 ballot."

The public comment period ran from March 17-31.

On April 5, the Hall of Fame Committee will meet again to cast their final votes for the Cadets Hall of Fame Class of 2023. The Hall of Fame Inductees will be announced later in April, and we will celebrate the 2023 Hall of Fame Class at the Cadets Hall of Fame Ceremony in northern New Jersey on October 15, 2023.

Nominees on the ballot for the Legacy Category (1934-1982):

  • Don Polzo
  • Frank Dorritie
  • James Cardaneo
  • William Kaufmann

A maximum of four (4) nominees can be elected to the Hall of Fame each year in the Legacy Category. The committee will discuss each candidate before submitting their votes on April 5.

Nominees on the ballot for the Contemporary Category (1982 – present):

  • Eric Sabach
  • Jack and Ellen Warntz
  • Joan and Noel Borden
  • Jonathan Schwartz
  • Linda Vitale
  • Marc Whitlock
  • Matt Stratton
  • Rob Godin

A maximum of four (4) nominees can be elected to the Hall of Fame each year in the Contemporary Category. Even though there are only four on the ballot, the committee will not necessarily elect four into the Hall of Fame. The committee will discuss each candidate before submitting their votes on April 5.

Again, this was one of the hardest discussions we’ve had in recent years because the depth of the submitted nominees was great and we have no doubt all these Cadets will one day be in the Hall of Fame.
