Kris Paterniti and her husband, Dave, have been volunteering with The Cadets since 2017 when their daughter joined the trumpet section. Kris has done three full tours on The Cadets' food truck: 2018, 2019 and 2021, specifically cooking for members with special dietary needs.

Kris was a stay-at-home mom for many years and was involved with her son and daughter’s schools. She volunteered in their classes when she could, chaperoned field trips and, later, band and a cappella trips. She served as PTA president for five years and band booster president for seven of the eight years her children were involved in the high school marching band. She is also in her fourteenth year of volunteering with the Jamestown High School Band.

Kris was head waitress at a private women’s organization in Jamestown for 12 years. She is currently employed at Chautauqua Institution in Chautauqua, N.Y., in Special Events. This past season, she served the featured lecturers every day. Salman Rushdie and Misty Copeland were two of the most memorable people she met.

Kris is looking forward to being with The Cadets again this summer. “We have been following and attending DCI shows for a long time, but this corps has my heart!” she said.
