Emma Wierenga is from Eureka, Illinois and is currently the Director of Bands at El Paso-Gridley High School and Middle School teaching 5-12th grade instrumental music. This role includes four concert bands, two jazz bands, two pep bands, four show choir combos, and a competitive marching band. She holds a B.M. in Music Education and a B.M. in Saxophone Performance from Olivet Nazarene University.

Emma’s marching arts career began in high school, marching saxophone for one year before serving as drum major for the following three years (2013-2017). In college, she was a member and section leader of the Olivet Nazarene University Tiger Marching Band (2018-2021). Over the last few years, she has been active in music ministry at her church, works as a private instrumental lesson instructor, and has taught at the George N. Parks Drum Major Academy.

A former drum major of the Cadets, Emma returned to the organization in 2022 as a member of the Admin Team. As an alumni of the corps, she is very excited for the opportunity to give back to the organization in her new role as an Assistant Tour Manager.
