Dr. Elliot Cleveland, DPT, is a sports and orthopedic physical therapist and the founder of Marching Health.
Dr. Cleveland is a former DCI and WGI World Class Finalist as a performer and a Bands of America Finalist as an instructor with the Wando High School Marching Band. While working as the drumline instructor at Wando, Dr. Cleveland witnessed students frequently sitting out of rehearsal due to poor conditioning, injury, or a lack of proper physical preparation. He began working alongside the Wando Visual Staff to create warm-up programs and marching-band-specific workouts and to lead comprehensive health education discussions with students. The results quickly became apparent with fewer students sitting out, stronger visual performance, and more mental resilience among the members.
That success launched a movement for improving health and wellness education in the marching arts. Marching Health became the global leader in health and wellness programming for drum corps, marching bands, and winter ensembles. The organization has taught hundreds of clinics across the globe, and worked with other marquee ensembles including The Cadets, Bluecoats, and Carolina Crown. Dr. Cleveland has presented at national conferences including WGIcon, PASIC, and the American Physical Therapy Association's Private Practice Conference.
Dr. Cleveland joined The Cadets Health and Wellness Team as the Health and Wellness Consultant in 2023.
