Updates for 2022 Volunteers
A Note from Our Volunteer Coordinator, Jill Updike:
Hello everyone!
Warmer weather and longer days are finally here, which means we can all get excited that the drum corps season is right around the corner! In The Cadets' zone, things are gaining momentum. We have lots of volunteer opportunities:
- Food Truck Prep - On April 23, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., we will be at Salem High School prepping the food truck for the season. We are looking for 10 people per hour for this (Think how long it takes to do a deep-clean of your kitchen, including all appliances, and then multiply that by five!) If you can join us if even for an hour, please email me and let me know what time window you can be there.
- Camp Volunteers - The weekend of April 29 - May 1, we need shuttle drivers and food crew hands. If you are able to help out, please go to cadets.org/events, click on the April Camp, and then click Register, It is really important to do this for camps so that we can plan enough food, supplies, housing, etc. for everyone in attendance.
- Spring Training and Tour - Now that our spring training site is locked in with Erie Sport Center, please think about your commitment for the summer.
- If you are interested in volunteering with us, please fill out the Volunteer Interest Form if you haven't already. Once we have you in our system, you will receive a welcome email from me with further on-boarding instructions.
- If you have already received your welcome email, now is the time to get serious about completing your on-boarding. You cannot join us until you have completed these actions!
- Please email me at jupdike@cadets.org with the dates you would like to volunteer so that I can start putting together a tentative schedule. Please do NOT schedule any flights or travel until your participation has been confirmed.
- If you are interested in volunteering with us, please fill out the Volunteer Interest Form if you haven't already. Once we have you in our system, you will receive a welcome email from me with further on-boarding instructions.
2022 Volunteers Welcome Call
We plan to have a 2022 Cadets Volunteers Welcome Call May 10 at 7 p.m. EDT via Zoom. Please stay tuned for more information! We will discuss in greater detail what volunteering looks like and answer any questions you may have. The 2022 season is going to be great, and I’m so looking forward to seeing all of our returning volunteers as well as meeting any new members of our Cadets community!
