Zachariah Jacobes, a seasoned veteran of the color guard activity with 14 years of experience, was born in Pennsylvania. After graduating high school, he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Hotel, Restaurant, and Tourism Management from East Stroudsburg University and a Master of Science in Education from Gwynedd Mercy University. As a color guard performer, he marched with respected groups including the Madison Scouts, Cavaliers, and Q Independent Color Guard, where he served as captain from 2011 to 2015.
With a passion for both color guard and education, Zach made a positive impact in the Pennsylvania color guard community as the Color Guard Director of Perkiomen Valley High School from 2017 to 2018, leading them to a first-place win at TIA East Coast Championships and again the following year after being promoted to the next class. He also served as an equipment technician for Q Independent.
In 2018, Zach moved to Texas and took a position as a 4th-grade teacher at Wilshire Elementary, where he was named Campus Teacher of the Year for 2022-2023 and is a lead teacher for the Student 2 Student Military program. He also worked as Director of Color Guard at MacArthur High School from 2018 to 2019 and has been a color guard technician for Claudia Taylor Johnson Marching Band since 2018. Claudia has won numerous WGI medals, was a BOA Regional Champion, a BOA national finalist several times, as well as Texas State Champions.
Zach is excited to join The Cadets Color Staff for their 2023 season and is eager to share his passion for color guard and education with the next generation.
