Meet Our 2022 Drum Majors
On Tuesday, February 1, The Cadets announced the four individuals who will be leading the corps in its 88th season. Cat Yang will return to our podium this year in a new role as Head Drum Major, while Adrian Allen, Wes Booker, and Bailey Karst will serve as Assistant Drum Majors.
"The Cadets Management and Staff are so excited to have these outstanding young men and women onboard," said Ron Lambert, Director of The Cadets. "They have risen from a very large and talented pool of applicants, and they were chosen because we believe they can and will set the tone for our membership. I have no doubt that these four will bring their leadership to the fore, while we also provide them with an exceptional educational experience."

Cat YangReturning to the podium after the 2020/2021 season, Cat is our 2022 Head Drum Major. A Dallas, Texas native, Cat is currently in her second year studying Music Education at the University of North Texas. She loves reading and playing the saxophone, and she is a big advocate for the arts. "I am so honored and excited to be leading The Cadets in 2022, and I am looking forward to a great season!" she said. |

Adrian AllenAdrian Allen comes to The Cadets from Dickinson, Texas. He is a senior at Dickinson High School planning to major in Music Education at either the University of North Texas or Stephen F. Austin State University. Adrian is currently the Head Drum Major for the DHS Gator Marching Band, having served as Saxophone Section Leader his Sophomore Year and Drum Major his Junior Year. For fun, he loves dancing, going to the beach, driving through the city at night, and eating cheesecake! He is also in the process of learning French, Spanish, and Sign Language. |

Wes BookerWes Booker is from Coppell, Texas and is currently a senior at Coppell High School. This fall, he will begin pursuing his degree in Music Education. Wes' marching arts journey began in ninth grade when he started marching the bass clarinet. His junior year, he became a Drum Major for the CHS Varsity Program, serving as the Head Drum Major for the Fall 2021 marching season. Aside from conducting, Wes loves to play his bassoon, his primary instrument, as well as biking and listening to music. "Marching drum corps has been a dream of mine for years, and I cannot wait to get started!” he said. |

Bailey KarstBailey is from Douglassville, Pa. and a senior at West Chester University majoring in Music Education (tuba) with a minor in Youth Empowerment and Urban Studies. Bailey's drum corps career began with Cadets2 where she was a member from 2015 to 2017. She went on to march with the Reading Buccaneers in 2018, and The Cadets from 2019 to 2021. She played tuba, baritone, and auxiliary percussion throughout her drum corps history, and she also spun winter guard for four years. She is currently the director of a scholastic indoor color guard. Bailey is also on the West Chester University Club Gymnastics Team. She loves hanging out with her bunny, Sophie, and is a sister of the Epsilon Epsilon chapter of Sigma Alpha Iota. |
