Quarter 4 Board Report
Cadets Arts & Entertainment, Inc. (CAE) is a new organization built on the rich and celebrated history of the 86-year old Cadets program. The CAE Board of Directors is committed to full transparency and will regularly communicate our activities to The Cadets’ passionate worldwide community of students, parents, staff, alumni and fans. This is the fourth in a series of quarterly reports that summarize the Board’s recent activities as well as goals for the next 90 days.
Q4 REPORT
During the fourth quarter, the Board of Directors took major steps forward in its efforts to secure the long-term future of The Cadets Drum Corps. Efforts were focused primarily on determining the best approach to delivering The Cadets program in 2021 while protecting the health and safety of our students, staff and volunteers.
The CAE Health and Wellness Committee worked closely with expert medical advisors and CEO Denise Bonfiglio to begin the difficult job of developing plans, protocols and procedures for all aspects of program operations by analyzing the latest public health guidelines and developments in the COVID-19 crisis. Their work helped to lay the foundation for DCI’s Reopening Task Force, allowing other participating drum corps to benefit from the Committee’s invaluable knowledge and best practices. You can read more about the Health and Wellness Committee here.
The Finance and Audit Committee has also been active in support of the CEO in defining alternative financial scenarios as the basis for CAE’s initial FY21 Budget.
In addition to the Board’s efforts to build out plans for 2021, it has emphasized building the network of support for The Cadets. During the fourth quarter, CAE conducted a series of online reunions, as a well as a virtual Hall of Fame event.

The Board has agreed to the following objectives for the first quarter of FY21:

2021 will mark The Cadets’ 87th anniversary. While we all struggle with the challenges presented by the pandemic, we look with hope and cautious optimism for the return of the Maroon and Gold to the field this summer. Much hard work remains to be done to ensure a safe, rewarding summer for our students, and we continue to be thankful for the fans, volunteers and alumni who are helping make this work possible.
