Garrett Giantonio is from Newington, CT, and is a Graduate student pursuing a Master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction at the University of Connecticut. Garrett graduated with his B.A. in Music and B.S. in Music Education from the school of fine arts and the Neag School of Education at UConn. While in his undergraduate career, he studied trumpet with Dr. Louis Hanzlik and Gino Villarreal.

Garrett began marching drum corps with The Cadets in 2020 and aged out the following season in 2021. He began his drum corps teaching career in 2022 as a high brass instructor with 7th Regiment Drum & Bugle Corps.

Currently, Garrett teaches middle school band/general music and is a graduate director with the marching band and athletic bands program at UConn.

Outside of teaching, Garrett is an active recording artist as well as freelance trumpet player around Connecticut.
