Reece Updike is from Ellicott City, Md. and is currently a fourth-year student at the University of Maryland, pursuing a degree in trumpet performance.

He began his drum corps career in 2017 when he joined the Cadets² trumpet section at the age of 16. Reece became a member of The Cadets in 2018 and continued with the corps through his age-out summer 2021. In 2019, he was named principal trumpet and served as a soloist for the 2019 and 2021 seasons.
