Meet Our 2023 Section Leaders
The Cadets Management and Administration proudly announce the section leaders of The 2023 Cadets.
As the 2023 season quickly approaches and The Cadets' yet-to-be-announced production enters the final stage of refinement before move-ins, we are thrilled to recognize the talented and accomplished young men and women who are leading the corps this 89th season.
"Nearly all of our membership for 2023 has come to us with some prior drum corps experience. These students rise above our corps of elite performers, having displayed excellent leadership, interpersonal, communication, musical, movement, and organizational skills," said Brian Murphy, Director of The Cadets. "I am thrilled to be able to recognize them publicly and excited to partner with them in leading The 2023 Cadets."
Leading the full corps for her second year as lead drum major is Cat Yang. Like all of our drum majors, Cat is a Texas native. 2023 will be her third and age-out year as a Cadet. Adrian Allen also returns to the podium for a second year as drum major. Alyssa Stuhr will age out as a Cadets drum major this summer, having previously been a member of the color guard in 2021. Completing the conductor line-up is Maddy Heintz, who will take the podium in her first summer as a Cadet.
Evan Stoddard will lead CBrass as horn sergeant for 2023. He also serves as the baritone section leader. Rounding out the brass line's leadership are Robert Starling on trumpet, Julia Koski on mellophone, Joseph Elkin on euphonium, and Chris Barreda on tuba.
The Cadets Color Guard has four talented leaders, with Julian Miron, Mirranda Gilbert and Alexis Rowbotham serving as captains, and Megan Smith serving as section leader for the flags.
The Cadets Drumline will once again be led by Alex Gilbert, who is entering his third season as a Cadet and second as center snare. Michael Robinson, Jr. will lead the tenors, and Jacob Cantor will head up Holy Bass. Joseph Hedner will lead the CPit in his second season with The Cadets.
